The Lumy L205 Black Series YW-Shape Recessed Type Aluminum Profile with Black PC Diffuser is designed for modern, integrated, and visually distinctive LED strip lighting installations. Combining a recessed aluminum profile with a black PC diffuser, this product creates a bold architectural lighting appearance that is suitable for contemporary commercial, hospitality, retail, office, and residential interiors.
Unlike conventional LED profiles with clear or milky white covers, the black PC diffuser provides a darker and more discreet appearance when the lighting is switched off. When illuminated, it creates a distinctive lighting effect that can complement dark ceilings, black furniture, metal finishes, feature walls, and modern interior design concepts.
Supplied by TOS Lighting Sdn. Bhd., the Lumy L205 Black Series is suitable for lighting projects throughout Perak, Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, and other areas in Malaysia.
The Lumy L205 Black Series is a YW-shape recessed aluminum profile designed to house LED strips inside a prepared channel or opening. The recessed installation allows the profile to become part of the ceiling, wall, furniture, or architectural surface instead of appearing as a separate surface-mounted component.
The black aluminum body and black PC diffuser create a strong visual identity. This makes the profile suitable for projects that require a darker, more dramatic, or more minimalist lighting appearance.
The black PC diffuser helps conceal the LED strip when the light is switched off and provides a distinctive appearance when illuminated. The final lighting effect will depend on the selected LED strip, installation depth, diffuser characteristics, and surrounding surface finishes.
Black recessed LED profiles are increasingly suitable for modern interiors where lighting is intended to become part of the architectural design. They can provide a strong contrast against lighter surfaces or blend naturally with dark ceilings and furniture.
The Lumy L205 Black Series can help to:
| Feature | Lumy L205 Black Series | Standard Milky White Recessed Profile | Exposed LED Strip |
|---|---|---|---|
| Installation type | Recessed | Recessed | Direct surface installation |
| Profile appearance | Black aluminum with black diffuser | Aluminum with milky white diffuser | No dedicated profile |
| Visual style | Bold, dark, architectural | Soft and neutral | Basic and exposed |
| LED strip visibility when switched off | More discreet due to black diffuser | More visible through light diffuser | Fully visible |
| Lighting appearance | Distinctive and design-focused | Soft and diffused | Direct and exposed |
| Design suitability | Modern, industrial, luxury, minimalist | General decorative and architectural lighting | Basic applications |

| Overall finish | Premium and coordinated | Clean and neutral | Less refined |
The black finish provides a strong visual character that can complement contemporary interiors. It is suitable for projects using black ceilings, dark furniture, metal details, wood finishes, or monochrome design schemes.
The profile is designed to be installed into a prepared channel or opening. This allows the lighting line to appear integrated with the surrounding surface and reduces the visual bulk of conventional surface-mounted lighting.
The black PC diffuser creates a darker appearance when the LED strip is not operating. This can be useful for spaces where the lighting detail should remain subtle during daylight or when the lights are turned off.
The YW-shape design can be used to create distinctive linear lighting features on ceilings, walls, furniture, and architectural panels. It can become a visual design element rather than only a functional light source.
The Lumy L205 Black Series is suitable for commercial and residential projects, including offices, retail stores, hotels, restaurants, showrooms, and modern homes.
The Lumy L205 Black Series can be used in many practical lighting applications:
The Lumy L205 Black Series is intended for recessed installation. A suitable channel or opening must be prepared in the selected surface before the profile can be installed.
Before installation, the installer should confirm the required profile length, LED strip compatibility, power supply requirements, wiring route, mounting method, and desired lighting effect.
Recommended installation considerations include:
✦ Measure the installation area accurately
✦ Mark the recessed channel position carefully
✦ Ensure the opening is straight and properly aligned
✦ Confirm LED strip compatibility with the profile
✦ Prepare suitable wiring and power supply access
✦ Install the aluminum profile securely into the prepared opening
✦ Position the LED strip evenly inside the profile
✦ Test the LED strip before installing the diffuser
✦ Fit the black PC diffuser carefully to avoid damage
✦ Inspect the final lighting effect and profile alignment
For commercial, industrial, and large-scale projects, installation should be completed by a qualified lighting installer or electrical contractor.
